Under construction, completion due 2026
This new-build house replaces an existing detached single-storey cottage on the site. The proposed house draws on features of the former dwelling, taking on influences of the Arts & Crafts movement, with its rosemary tile dual-pitched roof and white roughcast render gables.
The design comprises a large T-shaped house, with separate garage building including the master bedroom above. It takes its form in three pitched roof elements, connecting to a fourth in the garage via a walkway at first floor level, with various flat-roofed elements between.
The northwest wing is finished with a white roughcast render and clay tiled roof, while the southeast wing features open-rainscreen timber cladding to both walls and roof.
Extending from the living room is a large glass atrium enhancing the connection with the garden and allowing year-round outdoor living. Above the atrium are two large timber-clad dormers with splayed reveals, providing outlook from the library and master bedroom over garden and landscape.
