BALMORAL PHASE 1

Located in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Phase 1 of the Balmoral project included the first of two house extensions to an existing dwelling in the east of the town.

The extension provided a draught lobby and larger entrance area for our client and their dog, before entering the main house. Materially, the porch is treated with a corrugated metal roof, thermopine decking and European larch cladding, coated with SiOO:X, which eliminates differential weathering to achieve a consistently weathered finish.

In respecting the local vernacular, these elements complement the verticality of nearby industrial buildings, whilst also blending with the roughcast render and tiled roof of the existing house.

Phase 2 of the project is to feature a rear extension to improve the kitchen layout and the connection with the garden, as well as providing additional living space.
