WORK IN PROGRESS
SCOTTISH CANOE ASSOCIATION
Masterplan
Grandtully, Perthshire
Construction commencement 2022
The masterplan project comprises a new education building, overnight camping facility, info point, EV charging points, eBike charging points, bike service shelter and campervan service area as well as an upgrade of the existing site & buildings.
Situated on the site of a former railway station, the design takes inspiration from the historic railway signal box, as well as the open/closed nature of a sit-in kayak.
With the Rob Roy Way passing through, the site is an outdoor hub serving watersports on the adjacent River Tay. The development will equip and enhance the SCA facility and campsite for years to come.
The project has been partly funded by Visit Scotland, Sport Scotland, NatureScot and Inspiring Scotland. We are also working with Perth & Kinross Council Planning Authority and Building Standards to reduce carbon emissions by over 10% through installation and operation of low and zero-carbon technologies.
